Mike Nock Trio (Sydney)

The current Mike Nock Trio a classic jazz ensemble that embraces the past as it looks to the future, features two extraordinary young musicians - bassist/composer Mike Majkowski and drummer James Waples and builds on the tradition established since Mike's return to Australia in 1985, of introducing some of the country's most exciting young jazz talents to a wider public.

Although not yet 25 years of age Mike Majkowski and James Waples are extraordinarily mature musicians with a rare musical rapport and show the high level of talent emerging in Australia today. Both are recent graduates of the Sydney Conservatorium and have been playing in Mike's groups since January 2003. Since their first trio engagement Jan 1st, 2006 the trio has been rehearsing weekly and are currently planning their debut CD.
